Felix VOLOSSENKOV
Felix Volossenkov (born 1944) is a distinguished Russian painter known for his dynamic and expressive works. Felix Volossenkov began his artistic education at the Art College in Baku (1959–1964), earning a diploma as a teacher of drawing, painting, and fine arts history. He then briefly studied architecture at Sverdlovsk Polytechnic (1964–1965) before completing his Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts with a major in Stage Design at the Leningrad Theater, Music, and Cinema Institute (1965–1970).
Since 1963, Felix Volossenkov has participated in 321 exhibitions across Russia and internationally, showcasing his artistic versatility and creative vision. His works are part of prestigious museum collections worldwide, including the State Hermitage and the Russian Museum in St. Petersburg, the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow, the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, and the Sakima Art Museum in Okinawa, Japan. Additionally, his art is housed in institutions across Europe, the United States, and Asia, showcasing his global artistic influence.
He is the President of the St. Petersburg Academy of Modern Art, a member of the Italian Union of Artists, an Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, and an Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts. His artistic contributions have earned him a significant place in contemporary Russian art.
A notable exhibition of his artworks, including pieces from the collection of Igor Chemisov, highlights his unique approach to modern artistic expression. One of his remarkable projects, Butterfly Wings, exemplifies his ability to capture movement, transformation, and vibrant color in his work.
Felix Volossenkov continues to shape the contemporary art scene, blending Russian artistic traditions with modern creativity, leaving an enduring legacy in the world of visual arts.
