She furthered her studies with a BFA in Fine Art at the School of Visual Arts in New York, and an MFA in Fine Art with distinction from the University of Oxford.
Vasileia is working on her doctoral research at the University of Cyprus, focusing on exploring Cypriot feminist subjectivities, in the works of Lia Haraki and Arianna Economou. Her research centers on what she terms the “seascape of trauma'” in Cyprus and how it intersects performance art and the visual arts.
Anaxagorou has recently published an academic article titled: “Building Resilience: The (New?) Politics of Grief and Mourning at the Time of the Pandemic in Contemporary Art Practices" in The International Journal of Social, Political, and Community Agendas in the Arts. This research explored the politicised dimensions of the pandemic, particularly as they intersected with the experiences of migrants and refugees, employing visual representations that challenge prevailing social and political narratives.
Her artistic research traverses a variety of mediums, including painting, writing, moving images, performance, and she consistently engaged with themes grounded in feminist and queer theory.
Vasileia has actively participated in group exhibitions internationally including London, New York, Portugal, Athens, and Cyprus. She has showcased her work in four solo exhibitions in Cyprus.
