Vladimir TSESLER

Vladimir Tsesler is a Belarusian artist and designer known for his innovative contributions to contemporary art and design.

Tsesler graduated in 1979 from the Design Department of the Faculty of Design and Decorative Applied Arts at the Belarusian State Theater and Art Institute. Over the years, he has established a distinguished career recognized for his creativity, conceptual depth, and thought-provoking works. His artistic approach often integrates elements of social and political commentary, making him a significant figure in Belarusian contemporary art.

 

One of the most notable projects, "Project of the Century. 12 of the XX,” showcased representations of twelve prominent 20th-century artists in the form of eggs. This project was exhibited at prestigious institutions such as the Pushkin Museum in Moscow (1999-2000), the Ludwig Museum at the Russian Museum in Saint Petersburg (2000), and the Venice Biennale (2005).

 

Following the 2020 Belarusian presidential election, Tsesler left Belarus and relocated to Cyprus. Despite being in exile, he continues to engage with the international art scene. In October 2021, he held his first solo exhibition in Warsaw at the Duży Pokój art space, marking an important milestone in his artistic career abroad.

 

Tsesler’s work is widely recognized for its originality, bold symbolism, and critical engagement with social and political issues. His conceptual and graphic designs have made a lasting impact in both Belarus and the global art scene. Through his art, he challenges societal norms and uses visual language to provoke thought and dialogue.

 

Vladimir Tsesler remains a vital force in the contemporary art scene.
